DBDON Partners with a Wellness Centre for Deaddiction

In a significant step towards empowering street-involved youth rescued by the Salesians of Don Bosco, DBDON has formalized a partnership with the Ambassadors Wellness Rehabilitation Centre. This collaboration aims to provide holistic mental health and substance abuse recovery services.

The Memorandum of Understanding, signed on June 3, 2025, outlines a shared vision: to offer a structured and holistic rehabilitation pathway for young people aged 18 to 30 who have faced life on the streets of Nairobi. Under this partnership, the Ambassadors Wellness Centre will provide clinical facilities, therapeutic programs, and professional personnel, while DBDON will facilitate funding and support ongoing review of activities.

Speaking at the signing, Rev. Fr. Dr. Sahaya G. Selvam, Director of DBDON, remarked, “Our mission is not just to rescue, but to accompany these young people on their journey to healing, integration, and a meaningful future. This partnership allows us to walk together with them in faith and commitment.”

The partnership offers a range of services, including:

  1. Inpatient rehabilitation
  2. Counseling
  3. 12-step recovery programs
  4. Occupational therapy
  5. Aftercare services (including online and physical follow-up)

This MoU will remain in effect for six months, from May 25, 2025 to January 25, 2026. DBDON will support the program financially while ensuring the highest standards of care and confidentiality are maintained.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Selvam concluded, “Our collaboration with the Ambassadors Wellness Centre is a testament to the Salesian spirit of accompaniment, where we journey together with the young to transform lives with hope and dignity.”
