DBDON undertakes health projects in our mission fields with an
overall goal of improving the health status of the marginalized people
living in the remote hard to reach areas Korr, Marsabit County and rural
urban areas of Makuyu and Nzaikoni communities of Murang’a and Machakos
counties respectively by focusing on four (4) specific objective areas:
i. Increasing access to improved maternal, neonatal and child-integrated outpatient services
for mothers and children.
ii. Increasing the ability of the community in preventing, managing and promoting their health
challenges.
iii. Enhancing access to food and nutrition for pregnant and lactating mothers and children
under 5 years of age.
iv. Prevention of infection and spread of HIV and AIDS and COVID-19 and its Impact on the
target communities.
The
projects’ implementation takes an integrated and holistic approach, by
offering different services at all project planning, implementation, and
phase-out stages; undertaken with respect and human dignity; putting
into consideration host communities’ culture and religious beliefs
without compromising the Gospel and treating every individual as human
being.
