Embu Water and Wastewater Management Awareness and Training

The Green TVET Project under the Global Program seeks to create broad awareness among the Salesian and Lay Staff, Students, SMEs, Public Sector, and to the general public regarding green topics such as Waste Management, Water Management, Biogas, and Solar. The Water and Wastewater Awareness Training was born from the need for wholesome sustainable development while conserving the environment. It is hoped that by giving the students in our DB Centers basic life skills to create positive change, they will come to the realization that climate change is a global pandemic and the time for action is now rather than later.

Water as a natural resource has become increasingly scarce over the past years and environmentalists are trying to find solutions as the problem escalates with climate change and the rapid population growth, which continues to put a strain on the already scarce resource. The core topics covered during the training included Water use, ways of managing water scarcity and inadequate supply; Water efficient equipment and landscape design; Water quality and sanitation; Water conservation, preservation, and restoration; and lastly the Relationship between climate change and water.
