Kakuma Agriculture project Supported by Misean Cara
Don Bosco Kakuma Agricultural project is changing the landscape of Kakuma refugee camp. In 2022, the project encountered challenges due to the prolonged drought and a borehole which was to be drilled was not forth coming as expected.

However, in 2023, the project is full of activities. With rains and functional borehole, the farm is green; covered with various food crops: maize, okra, spinach, green grams, peas among others. Students are actively involved as they are expected to have own portions for practical experiences. Refugees, agencies’ staff and business people are the main consumers of the produce.

The project emphasis is on ecological production and thus beekeeping, fish farming, chicken farming has been embraced. This brings about sustainability of the farm’s natural ecosystem.
